Many clients will ask for a referral from a family member or friend. This is a good place to start. However, it is still important to do your research to make sure that the agent you choose is a good fit for you.

Ask lots of questions to determine the strength and character of an agent. It’s important to make sure that the agent is knowledgeable and experienced. Asking about their experience and qualifications can help give you an indication of their capabilities that can help determine their communication skills and dedication to helping their clients.

Trust. Count on your 6th sense! It’s important to trust your gut instinct when interviewing an agent. Ask them open-ended questions that will give you a better sense of their personality. Additionally, observe how they interact with others in the room. This can give you an indication of their interpersonal skills. Ask for referrals of past clients that you can contact directly. You may feel comfortable gaining knowledge from a 3rd party.
