Moving In

Closing day marks the final step in the homebuying process, culminating in the transfer of ownership from the seller to the buyer. Here’s what to expect on closing day and moving-in:

Closing Day: On closing day or a day prior, you’ll typically do a final walk-through of the home you are buying. Your SUNSET 5280 agent will make these arrangements for you. The walk-through ensures any inspection resolution items are completed to your satisfaction. Next, you and your SUNSET 5280 agent will meet with various parties involved in the transaction. During the closing process, you’ll review and sign a series of documents, and any additional paperwork required by the lender or local authorities. Be prepared to bring a government-issued ID and any funds required for closing costs. Your lender will provide you with a breakdown of the amount due before closing. Once all documents are signed and funds are disbursed, the title to the property is transferred to you, and you’ll receive the keys to your new home. After the closing, the deed and mortgage documents are recorded with the appropriate government office, officially completing the purchase.

Moving In: After closing, you can officially take possession of your new home and begin moving in. Plan and coordinate with movers or friends and family to help you transport your belongings to your new residence. Set up utilities and services for your new home, including electricity, gas, internet, and cable, if applicable. Update your address with the post office, banks, credit card companies, insurance providers, and any other relevant entities to ensure that your mail and important documents are forwarded to your new address. Take some time to familiarize yourself with your new neighborhood and surroundings, and begin settling into your new home and community.

Closing day and moving in mark the culmination of your homebuying journey and the beginning of a new chapter in your life. SUNSET 5280 takes great pride in helping you be organized, prepared, and proactive. This ensures a successful transaction and a new start to home ownership. Congratulations!
